Important Notice for 510/511 Students:
The online 510/511 courses cannot be used within the UCSD Professional Safety Certificate requirement for these courses EXCEPT:

• UCSD Certificate applicants who take the online 510/ 511 do not have to repeat them to earn the UCSD Professional Safety Certificate; however, they must replace the 3 units with other qualified electives (for information, contact the UCSD OSHA Training Institute at (858) 964-1054)
• The online 510/511 courses do fulfill the pre-requisite requirement for all UCSD courses requiring them

510 Course

 

This online course is a pre-requisite to the OSHA 500 trainer course and covers OSHA construction safety and health standards, with a special emphasis on hazardous areas. With this course provided by the UC San Diego OSHA Training Institute Education Center in cooperation of the University of South Florida and American Safety Council, Inc., you’ll learn policies and procedures regarding hazard communication, safety programs, personal protective equipment, fall protection and more.

This online course is a pre-requisite to the OSHA 501 trainer course and provides a comprehensive overview of the OSHA standards for the general industry. In this course, provided by the UC San Diego OSHA Training Institute Education Center in cooperation of the University of South Florida and American Safety Council, Inc., you’ll learn about OSHA’s general industry requirements, as well as helpful topics such as ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and safety and health programs in the workplace.
